Hosting Virtual Spiced Drinks Event for ServiceNow

A few days back, I received a message from a new client, the team of ServiceNow. The conversation started like this:

"This is ServiceNow, a San Diego based company but this is for our India team. We are the team’s UX/UI designers and technical writers.”

They were interested in our Spiced Drinks with Dancing Indian Chef event. They told me how they were thinking of 2 mocktails and 2 spiced drinks. Requesting customisations, they continued, "Can we go a little over 1 hour… like 1 hour 15 minutes?" The event was hosted for their Craft Summit for UX Designers, Researchers, and Technical Writers. Their theme for the year was Creativity. “So all our experiences are something creative… like you are creative with making different drinks and dancing at the same time. Never seen anything like this before right? So something out of the box… CREATIVENESS!"

The usual duration for my events is an hour, but I am always more than willing to accommodate customisation requests like these. So, after receiving the message, I immediately agreed to organize the team building event for them. It was an honor to work with the team for the first time.

ServiceNow hosted a two-day summit called “EO Craft Summit”, and The Kitty Party was invited on the opening day of the event. The description of the event was quite catchy:

"Have you ever danced in your kitchen while preparing something exotic for yourself or your family? If not then here is your chance to groove while you learn some exquisite and refreshing drinks. Our host Nistha from Berlin will take you through the journey of making some amazing drinks with easy-to-find ingredients in the kitchen."

They had asked for a mocktail drinks event. So, after a few discussions, we curated a menu which had Cucumber Punch, Spiced Chocolate and Nuts Got Stained. We arranged both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions for Cucumber Punch.

More than 30 people from the company joined us for the team building event and all of them engaged themselves in a 75 minutes-long fun cooking session. The team members were mainly designers and technical writers. Most of them were from India and others from the Netherlands.

Even though it was autumn, Spiced Chocolate was a hit! The team members were alcohol lovers, so Cucumber Punch was a hit among them and appreciated for the spicy punch and alcohol version.

All kinds of customisations were made to meet their requirements. The highlights of this unique team building event were:

  • For the very first time, we hosted a team building event with most of its members based in India.

  • The team asked for some extra time. So, we added an additional 15 minutes to the standard duration of our regular workshop.

  • ServiceNow was the first team with whom we prepared our one of the most unique drinks - Nuts Got Stained.

  • Generally, I prefer doing our events on our own Zoom links. But we arranged the entire session on their Zoom link with the aim of sharing it with other team members who were unable to join.

  • We also recorded the event for those who could not join.

We had an amazing and memorable experience throughout the session. The team members were enthusiastic and enjoyed every bit. We spent a lot of time talking about the recipes. I am really looking forward to working with them again. Their sweet feedback made my day:

"Amazing… AMAZING…. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G"
