Heartwarming Incidents from our Corporate Parties and Virtual Team Building Events

Nothing makes me as an event planner happier than bringing a team together. Be it a virtual event connecting teams scattered across the globe, or a corporate event assembling incredible people from all over the world who stay in Berlin. It gives me tremendous joy to assist a range of diverse companies, be it giant companies or startups, in planning all of these lovely events for their bright teams who might occasionally feel overworked.

Hosting Corporate Virtual Events for multiple teams online has been a great experience for me. Not only does it bring my passion for food, hosting and dancing together, but also my work has had these heartwarming moments which make it even more exciting for me.

Children, Pets and Families Together

Let’s get dancing

Due to time and resource constraints, teams are unable to involve their families in corporate events. However, a heartwarming highlight of our virtual events is that people are able to include their loved ones and pets, strengthening the bonds between them and allowing for some lighthearted relaxation.

Our Team Event for Facebook was made special by a one-year-old who was actively dancing with us throughout the event. It was such a precious moment of joy! The attendees later wrote to us that he enjoyed the butter masala curry and it was very heartwarming to read their message.

People can bring their dogs and cats and it becomes a jolly environment with everyone dancing with their pets.

One of the most memorable incidents during our events was when a client’s dog was enjoying dancing with us — so much that whenever it would be removed from the screen, it began to cry.

We have also hosted a very memorable Christmas Event where the families joined in on the thrill! The mother-in-law danced with her daughter-in-law, even though they were usually quite shy. Due to it being a virtual team event, the family was able to bond in a way they had never before.

Appreciation and Love for the Herb Garden

A cozy snap of my herb garden

People enjoy seeing my herb garden when I display it to them at our virtual events. The teams of Target told me that I should teach herb gardening, and it was touching to see people notice the hard work I do in maintaining it. During the lockdown, I was inspired to learn more about my hobby of herb gardening after seeing how much people appreciated my tiny little turmeric and chili plants.

Many times people get inspired by our kitchen garden and often send me pictures of the mini-spices they end up growing in their homes. It truly touches me to see the impact our virtual events make, and how they infleunce people to go the extra creative mile.

Generous Brainstorming and Feedback

Forever grateful for the love we receive

Often teams are really excited about sharing their detailed constructive critiques and they stay a little bit more even after the events to talk to me about how much they believe in the scope of our events. They are so appreciative, they observe all the tiny details I add to make my events special and they indulge in brainstorming with their teams which really touches me. “How can we make the events more popular? How can the method of teaching and the setup be improved?”

The teams at ServiceNow went one step ahead to suggest that I should rotate my camera so they can see the scenic Berlin River view from my kitchen. It is so uplifting to see how teams get involved in every part of the event and help me make it better.

Knowing what the teams are looking for, and taking that feedback positively has always been the most important thing for me and my team at The Kitty Party.

There was one time when someone had booked us from Amicale Academy Munich’s patent office, and the teams stayed and they showered us with their gratitude for ten minutes. The client who had booked the event even called me later and — I am not even exagerrating this, but for an hour he went on and on about how much he appreciated the event. You know a client enjoyed your event when they tell you that you are charging low for your services! I was so beholden when he told me how I should be charging three times higher as my events are really unique.

“Unique experience for all the senses with a unique chef

Here, all the senses are addressed, which is extraordinary for an online event.”

Hosting the teams of CapitalOne also brought such a warm and joyous experience for me. They were so engaged in the virtual event that even after the designated time for the event was over, we chatted for another half an hour. They asked me questions about myself, and about spices, and their curiosity and love really warm my heart whenever I go down memory lane. It felt like they were at my home and we were chatting on the couch. I enjoy answering questions and it gave me immense joy to talk to them, it almost felt as if someone was interviewing me!

Dancing with the teams

No party at The Kitty Party is complete without dancing

How people from all seven continents get connected to Indian and Bollywood Music and dance together. We have had events where people are dancing 20-30 minutes after the events.

I had a Danish Couple in one of the team events who requested me to play Tunak Tunak Tun by Daler Mehndi, a very popular Punjabi Pop Singer from India. They enthusiastically danced to the tune, copying the original choreography step-by-step. Let me also emphasize that they were unstoppable and they did not miss a single step! It was a fantastic environment. The entire team was surprised to see that, and everyone started to become more involved as they all danced together to the song.

Storytelling

Nothing is as soothing as a cup of Masala Chai during the holidays

Whenever we make Masala Chai at our events, I get very emotional as it is a recipe taught to me by my grandmother for the first time when I was in 10th grade. The Turmeric Latte feels like a celebration of flavours and tales as I share the multiple anecdotes related to it during an event. Opening up my home, allowing hundreds and thousands of strangers into my kitchen and sharing the stories and recipes I grew up with and developed on my own creates that amicable ambience where everyone feels at home.

When I wasn't working my parents had this complaint about me that I was a gold medalist and avid scholar, yet I wasn’t working in one of these big dream companies. Sometimes it would hurt me but today I work with the same large companies. Having their CTOs and CEOs listen to me as I teach them the recipes. I have meetings with them to discuss the recipes and coordinate the entire event.

When I first hosted Google it was really emotional for me as Google is a company that has always been well-respected by those around me. Having them

People from MIT with the smartest minds join my events and appreciate them, I feel like I am doing it all correctly. My parents also feel proud when I tell them about the companies I work with and how the events are well-received, and there’s nothing that could ever be as soothing as that.

Forever Grateful for the Appreciation

One of the multiple 5 star reviews from our Airbnb

Throughout my journey as an event manager, people keep on leaving positive comments about how much they have already learned and how they appreciate how the event unfolds. Many times when the event ends, people clap for a minute or two and that real-time appreciation fills me with immense gratitude

I can’t put it into words. It is my clients' appreciation and recognition for the work that I do that helps me. I don’t do it for money, rather I do it for the thrill it gives me. I find myself really lucky that I have this natural talent to host people and connect with them and be able to use my skills in a way to spread positivity and help people to enjoy some moments of their busy life without worry.

If you are reading this blog, let me once again invite you to our virtual team events. You haven’t ticked your bucket list until you have joined a team-building event with the Dancing Chef, we promise you this is an experience you won’t find anywhere else.
